One of Sweden’s leading food giants is Orkla. The company is owned by Orkla ASA registered in Norway and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange since 1929. In total, the Orkla companies have 300 brands spread over 30 countries, writes Expressen.
Within the Swedish Orkla companies there are several Swedish brands such as well-known OLW, Felix, Abba, Ekström, Bubs and Ballerina. The company also produces hygiene items.

Billionaire empire Orkla Food Sweden
In food, Orkla has two companies in Sweden. Partly Orkla Food Sweden, which among other things produces Abba, Kalle’s caviar, Bob and Felix. And partly Orkla Confectionery and Snacks Sweden, which produce candies such as OLW, Ballerina and Bubs.
The latter candy brand was bought by the company in 2023 as it had previously been a family-owned company.
– We had been courted a few years earlier by several stakeholders, including Orkla, but then chose to wait. Now they came and knocked on the door again, and then it felt right, says one of the Bubs founders Ulrik Lindströmto The Express.
What are the companies’ turnover?
Orkla Food Sweden turnover in 2023 was a whopping 6.7 billion kroner and made a profit of almost 3 million kroner. The company’s assets are estimated at approximately SEK 4.9 billion.
Orkla Confectionery and Snacks Sweden turnover the less in 2023. Their turnover lands at SEK 1.8 billion and the profit lands at SEK 23 million. The company’s assets are estimated at approximately SEK 1.4 billion.
