Frida Karlsson’s wonderful joke to the Swedes after the tough injury

Concerns are growing for Frida Karlsson ahead of the new season.
She has been forced to train outside the Swedish national skiing team.
Now she comes up with a clever joke for all Swedes.

Last Friday came the nightmare news Frida Karlsson. The Swedish ski star has suffered a major setback in pre-season training and is now doubtful for the long-awaited ski debut.

Karlsson’s setback

The 25-year-old has to change the entire planning and is thus forced to withdraw from the Swedish national ski team. Instead of accompanying his national team colleagues to a training camp in Val Senales, Karlsson has gone to Tenerife to rehabilitate himself with cycling and gym training.

After that, the plan is to go into ski training step by step.
– I have had a great summer and trained hard and a lot. I have been able to follow my plan exactly as I have wanted. That is perhaps a contributing factor to the fact that around the Trondheim camp I started to feel my footing. It got a little worse and since then I’ve had to balance on a rather fragile thread about where I’ve been in terms of load, admits Frida Karlsson at a press conference.

Frida’s joke

Concerns are growing about whether Frida will make it back before the World Cup premiere in Ruka on November 29. But she herself seems to be in a good mood and now comes up with a clever joke from the Canary Islands.
“Wonder which tour I’m actually training for??”, writes Karlsson in a post on Instagram, see below.

Frida Karlsson has posted several pictures of herself from Tenerife, where she seems to cycle a lot. That’s why she jokes that the Tour de France might start to become more appropriate than the Tour de Ski.

The pictures on Instagram, see below, have received over 24,000 likes and a lot of Swedes want to support the cross-country skier during this tough time.
“You are always the World’s Best Frida no matter what you do,” writes one user.
“Good luck with your rehab. There are many of us who want to see you on the ski trail again,” writes another.
“God, how sad that you got hurt now. Keep fighting, you are one of the toughest athletes I know,” writes a third.
