Alarm about shooting in Västerås

The police are investigating a serious crime in the western parts of Västerås. The police do not want to state whether it is a violent crime, nor whether there are any victims or what time the alarm was received. But they state that there is no danger to the public.

The police on the spot confirmed for P4 Västmanland that it was a shooting.

Elderly man had 78 guns at home

A 75-year-old man had a large number of weapons and ammunition lying around in his villa in the municipality of Vänersborg.

“Everywhere in the house there are firearms of various kinds that are not locked in a gun cabinet, the same applies to ammunition that is in piles around the house,” the preliminary investigation says according to TTELA.

The man has now been sentenced to three years in prison for serious weapons offences.

Dead person found – man suspected of murder

A person was found dead in an apartment in Skurup on Sunday morning. There are unclear circumstances surrounding the death. A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of murder. The police do not want to release more details about the dead person.
