If you have a lot of apps on your smartphone, it is in your best interest to use this technique to organize them on the home screen. It’s simple and practical, and you’ll really see things more clearly!

Smartphones have become essential tools in our daily lives, full of applications for all kinds of activities. But this profusion can quickly turn the home screen into visual chaos. Between the many scattered icons and more or less bulky widgets, it becomes difficult to quickly find the desired application.

Fortunately, Android phones offer many possibilities for personalizing and optimizing the organization of home screens. Among these options, a small, very practical and easy-to-use function: the application folders. As their name suggests, we can see them as a sort of filing cabinet or drawer in which applications are stored.

Once grouped within a folder, the different icons only occupy a single “box” on the home screen, which is very useful for making space and seeing more clearly. In addition, this method makes it possible to bring together applications from the same category in the same place. For example, you can create a “Social Networks” folder for Instagram, Facebook or Twitter (aka X), or another called “Tools” for the calculator, stopwatch or voice recorder.

To create an applications folder, nothing could be simpler: simply touch and hold the icon of an application, then drag it onto that of another application. A folder containing the two icons is then automatically created. To access the applications it contains, simply touch its icon with your finger to open it, then press on the apps to launch them.

Once created, it is of course possible to modify and manipulate the folders to make them more practical or more readable. For example, you can move folders on the home screen, give them a personalized name, move an application from one folder to another or even merge two folders together. To find out how to do all these things, refer to our article dedicated to this subject.

Application folders are a simple but very effective function for organizing your smartphone, allowing you to quickly find what you need and freeing up space on the home screen. Feel free to experiment with different folder combinations to find the organization that works best for you. In just a few minutes, you can transform your home screen into a clear, tidy and pleasant space to use.
