The vital prognosis of a 5-year-old child is in jeopardy this Sunday, October 27, after he was shot and injured in Pacé, near Rennes.
The events took place on Saturday October 26 in the evening, in Pacé, near Rennes. A five-year-old child was shot in the head according to the gendarmerie and the daily Ouest France. The little boy is hospitalized at the Rennes hospital center and his vital prognosis is in jeopardy.
He was in the back of the car driven by his father, who was being pursued by several hooded men who were pursuing the vehicle in a second car. The latter allegedly shot at the trunk and the rear window. In order to escape the shots, the father accelerated until he was no longer followed.
The gendarmerie affirms that the circumstances of the shooting which led to this serious injury are still to be determined. The Rennes research section is in charge of the case in co-responsibility with the Ille-et-Vilaine departmental gendarmerie group.
A link to another shooting?
These events could have a link with another shooting that occurred Saturday morning in the Maurepas sector in Rennes, where several rival gangs are competing to control deal points. According to Ouest-France, this is linked to drug trafficking. Since August, around ten settlings of scores with firearms have taken place in Rennes.
