Last season she was their colleague, now she will assess their efforts in SVT’s “Vinterstudion”.
The Swedish biathletes share their honest opinions about Mona Brorsson becoming a TV expert.
– I trust Mona, she is on the other side, but I think the loyalty remains with us, Elvira Öberg tells Östersunds-Posten.
After almost ten years in the Swedish national team in biathlon chose Mona Brorsson34, to thank. By then, she had managed to participate in eight World Cups and two Olympics. In total, there was one World Cup silver, two Olympic medals and three European Championship golds, as well as 18 podium places in the World Cup.
Moved to Stockholm
Recently it became clear that Mona Brorsson will replace Helena Ekholm as a biathlon expert in SVT’s “Vinterstudion” next season. She and her partner Gustav Larssonformer fencer in the national biathlon team, has just moved to the capital to try a new adventure.
– We felt last spring when I finished biathlon that both are done with skiing, at least the performance part. We had lived in Östersund for a long time. If there’s ever a time we’re going to try Stockholm, it’s now, she tells NWT.
Some who are of course aware of Mona Brorsson’s upcoming assignment in the television box are her former colleagues in the national team. She will now be forced to comment, judge and maybe at some point saw her friends. You’d think the Swedish riders are nervous about what might come, but it seems they trust her not to reveal too many secrets.

– I really think she will do a good job. With biathlon, there are always things you can lift. I think Mona will come in with some new blood in the commentary section, I think a little refresh is good. It is clear that she will tell us things that have news value, but without hanging us out on a personal level, says Hanna Öberg to Östersunds-Posten.
Impressed by the debut
Sebastian Samuelsson is actually impressed by how quickly Brorsson acclimated to the role of studio expert. He has taken part in her premiere on Expressen TV, when she commented on the SM in roller skiing, and thinks she feels calm and safe.
– I heard a bit of what she commented during the roller ski shooting SC and thought she did well. It should be exciting, we’ll have to evaluate afterwards. I hope she dares to take the turns, he says.
Just like its older sister, it is not Elvira Öberg all too worried about what Mona Brorsson might come up with. They have no skeletons in the closet and think that Mona will surely keep quiet about their civil life and other private matters. But she will surely be honest and straightforward anyway.

– I trust Mona, she is on the other side, but I think the loyalty remains with us. She knows us very well, of course for better or for worse. I think it’s good that she knows us well. She will be able to give viewers insights into how it works, how we work and think about competitions and training, says Elvira Öberg to ÖP.
It will be exciting to both see and hear Mona in the SVT broadcasts this winter. It will be particularly interesting to see her together with the immensely popular Björn Ferry.
