Three concerts became six.
The huge demand for tickets for Kent’s temporary reunion surprised both the promoter and the band.
– I don’t think I’ve ever experienced it, says Anders Larsson, concert producer at United Stage.
Since the farewell concert and the last song at Tele2 Arena in 2016, the fans have been longing. It was clearly noticed when the tickets for Kent’s concerts at the same arena in March next year were released on Saturday.
The tickets for the three concerts on March 21, 22 and 23 ran out long before the queue in the booking system was empty.
– There has been extremely high pressure, says Anders Larsson, concert producer at United Stage.
“Took to it properly”
The organizers thought that the planned concerts would be enough. But when they realized that this was not the case, they decided together with the band to do an extra concert. In the end there were two more.
– I want to say that this stands out. I think we hit it off right from the start with the first three concerts. We ended up releasing six concerts and have sold over 210,000 tickets in three hours. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that, says Anders Larsson.
New fans
The extreme pressure shows that Kent are long awaited. But Anders Larsson believes that there are several other factors at play.
– I think there were a lot of new fans who weren’t old enough to go last. You can also see that on Spotify and other streaming services, that they have a younger audience that has never experienced them live before.
Kent will play at the Tele2 Arena on March 21, 22, 23, 25, 26 and 27 next year.
On Saturday afternoon, there are still a few thousand tickets left for the concert on March 25, according to Anders Larsson.
