Activists accuse Sudanese rebels of killing dozens of people in two villages | News in brief

In the central part of Sudan, at least 50 people have died in an attack by the rebel group RSF on two villages, says the Resistance Committee group, which assists victims of the civil war, according to the AFP news agency.

According to the committee, more than 200 people were wounded. However, it has not been possible to evacuate them due to the RSF’s firing.

The RSF used to be a supporter of the Sudanese government, but fighting broke out between it and the army last year. The RSF has its roots in the Janjaweed forces, which have been accused of brutal atrocities in the civil war in the Darfur region.
