The Aurora League continued on Friday with the top match between Tampere Ilves and Kiekko-Espo.
Kiekko-Espoo showed their best in the top game of the women’s hockey league and beat Ilves by a surprisingly large number of goals, 9–2.
The match was still tied at 1-1 halfway through, but after that the people from Espoo went on their way.
The winners were the power players of the match Emma Nuutinen (1+4), the top name in the point market for defenders Minttu Tuominen (2+2) and director of the Auroraliiga points exchange Lisette Taks (2+1).
Kiekko-Espoon Nea Katajamäki scored the 3–1 and 4–1 goals in the deciding phase, which depressed Ilves for good.
The win put Kiekko-Espoo, burdened by one loss, two points ahead of Ilves in the series. The people from Tampere have played two more games than the people from Espoo.
On Saturday, the Aurora League will play a round of four matches in Oulu, Rovaniemi, Turku and Espoo.
