Despite not doing much in the films, Mace Windu is one of Star Wars’ most iconic Jedi. This is mainly due to Samuel L. Jackson, who has a special connection to his film character. In an interview, he said that he does not believe Mace Windu is dead.
Who is Mace Windu? Mace Windu is an important member of the Jedi Order who we meet in the Star Wars prequel films. He is played by Samuel L. Jackson, who probably has a special connection to his character. Even his lightsaber has a personal dedication.
In Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith, Mace Windu dies after he confronts Chancellor Palpatine and has his hand cut off by Anakin and falls out of the house. But many fans don’t believe that Mace Windu is really dead. And Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t seem to believe that either.

According to Jackson, Mace Windu is still alive
What did Samuel L. Jackson say about this? In a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (via Facebook), the actor discussed iconic roles in his career. Of course he also talks about the Jedi Mace Windu. He is asked about an interview he did about Mace Windu. Jackson thinks Windu isn’t dead at all. When it comes to Fallon, he explains it like this:
I mean, there’s a history, a long history, of one-armed, one-handed people in the Star Wars universe. […] Just because they chopped off my arm and I fell out the window, does that mean I’m dead? Yes, I am a Jedi. The second most powerful Jedi in the universe, after Yoda.
Jackson already knows what Mace Windu is doing: He’s out there, traveling on Earth with Jules. Jules is Jackson’s character from Pulp Fiction. Jackson also thinks about Jules that he is still out and about and having adventures.
Samuel L. Jackson might be right: Luke already lost his hand in the first trilogy, and Star Wars is generally known for reviving characters who were supposedly dead. Characters like Palpatine and Darth Maul have returned, although they met an even worse fate than Mace Windu.
How likely are we to see Mace Windu again? In principle, this is possible as long as the timeline of the series or film takes place during Mace Windu’s lifetime. He has also already taken on the lead role in a franchise series. In Secret Invasion, he played his Marvel character Nick Fury. However, it is quite unlikely in the next Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, as it takes place after episode 6.
