8.30 pm: Motorcyclist uninjured after accident, just like the dog on the back
A motorcyclist collided with a car driver on the Ringdijk Tweede Beijking in Mijdrecht this evening. The accident happened at the road narrowing, it is not yet clear what exactly happened. The driver of the motorcycle was unharmed, as was his dog who was sitting in a suitcase on the back.
3 p.m.: Fake cops caught after tip-off
Three men were arrested after stealing items in Bunschoten. The real police were tipped off about the trio posing as cops. A search of their car yielded a bag with stolen jewelry, which had been stolen in Bunschoten on the day.
11.30 am: Many hard drugs found in Breukelen home
Large quantities of hard drugs were found in a house in Breukelen and three in Loosdrecht in North Holland. Two men aged 20 and 22 from Loosdrecht have been arrested. They are suspected of dealing in hard drugs.
The police have also seized expensive items and vehicles that were probably paid for with income from the drug trade. The police are investigating this further.
11.20 am: Collision on Rondweg-Noord in Amersfoort
A rear-end collision took place on the Rondweg-Noord in Amersfoort around 10.25 am. A bus collided with the car in front of it. The bus was severely damaged as a result. A recovery company towed both vehicles away.
The road towards the A1 was temporarily closed, but has now reopened.
11.13 am: Collision at Stadsring in Amersfoort
A collision between two cars took place yesterday at the intersection of the Van Asch van Wijckstraat and the Stadsring in Amersfoort. There was one occupant in one car, and a woman and a child in the other. The child was taken to hospital for a check-up.
The cause of the accident is not yet known, police said. The investigation into this is still ongoing.
9.39 am: Accident on the A2 near Abcoude
A collision took place on the A2 near Abcoude this morning around 8 a.m. According to the police, it was a rear-end collision. A total of three vehicles were involved in the accident. The collision temporarily closed three lanes.
One person was treated at the scene by medical staff, but according to the police spokesperson, no one else needed to be taken to hospital. According to him, it is also “an insurance issue”. The cause of the accident is not known.
8.38 am: Explosion at home in Amersfoort
An explosion occurred at a house on Sikkelkruid in Amersfoort last night around 12:05 am. No one was injured. However, the mailbox at the front door was damaged. Police say they are investigating the explosion.
7.48 am: Traffic jams around Utrecht
Traffic is stuck in a number of places around Utrecht. There is a 14 kilometer traffic jam on the A12 at the Lunetten junction and the Oudenrijn junction due to a broken down truck. Traffic is therefore delayed by approximately 20 minutes. Traffic is also currently at a standstill on the A2 from Vianen to Utrecht and on the A12 near Woerden in the direction of Utrecht.
6.41 am: Code yellow again due to dense fog
Dense fog may occur locally in the province of Utrecht, the KNMI warns. That is why code yellow applies until 10 a.m. Visibility may be less than 200 meters. Traffic in particular can be affected by this.
