First of all, what is a podcast?
A contraction of the words “iPod” and “broadcast” (broadcast in English), “podcast” designates a radio broadcast that can be listened to free of charge, on demand. Information, testimonials, music, sport: there are podcasts on all subjects.
We distinguish between catch-up podcasts (a bit like replaying a TV channel, but for radio), and “native” podcasts, intended only to be broadcast online.
On an Apple device
Start by downloading the Apple Podcasts app.
In the search bar, type the name of the podcast you want to listen to. Once on its home page, you can either listen to the latest episode or scroll down to listen to an older episode.
It is also possible to download an episode by clicking on the cloud icon. You will be able to listen to it without an internet connection.
Finally, you can give your opinion, rate this podcast and subscribe by pressing the little “plus” at the top right. You will then receive a notification as soon as a new episode is available.

On an Android device
Download the Google Podcasts app.
Its operation is quite similar to that of Apple. Once on the home page of the podcast you want to listen to, you can also download it by clicking on the down arrow icon.
From a computer
Choose your listening platform. Some music streaming sites – like Spotify and Deezer – have “Podcasts” sections. Other sites like Acast specialize in delivering native podcasts.
If you are listening to a podcast produced by a media outlet (or a catch-up podcast), you can also listen to it directly from that media outlet’s website.
