Expressed support for terrorist-classified Palestinian organization • Attacks the party board for double standards
In a press release, the party leadership for V announces that it is excluding Kristofer Lundberg, chairman of the party association in the Gothenburg district of Angered. The background is that Lundberg has shown support for the terrorist-classified Palestinian PFLP. The decision comes amid the storm in which the party leadership is defending itself against accusations of anti-Semitism among the party’s representatives.
Kristofer Lundberg reacts to the exclusion by saying that the party has lost its anchoring in its grassroots, and speaks about the Palestine issue with a forked tongue.
– It is hypocrisy. Senseless hypocrisy. I have had to dress shots for contacts with an organization with which the party has had contacts for decades. It’s very boring, says Kristofer Lundberg.
“Creates a fear in the party”
At a meeting in Angered in February, a person was allowed to speak from the Palestinian PFLP, which both the EU and the US have classified as a terrorist organization. The fact that the chairman of the party association, Lundberg, defended this was noticed in the media a few weeks ago. After that, Lundberg was suspended from his assignment pending the investigation, which on Wednesday resulted in him being excluded.
Something that Lundberg has no understanding of.
– When you act in this way, you create fear in the party. That fear may result in people becoming passive, becoming silent and not daring to say what they think and think and so on. It is fatal for all types of political organization, says Lundberg.

Ann Tiberg on V excluding Kristofer Lundberg: “Will certainly be received with strong criticism from certain groups”
“Serious situation for the Left Party”
The treatment of Lundberg has provoked strong reactions. The local party board in Angered resigned in support of him and several grassroots members have criticized the party leadership’s handling. Lundberg believes that the management now also takes this step will lead to further effects.
Among other things, several Palestinian organizations have said that they will not vote for the Left Party in the upcoming elections.
– It is a serious situation for the Left Party. Not least after the extensive criticism that you face from the member base, it is serious. They distance themselves from the local organizations.
Kristofer Lundberg believes that the party leadership’s actions are part of a strategy to be able to become a future government party.
– It is a fear. You want to be part of a social democratic, upcoming government and then you want to stop all critical thinking from the left, says Lundberg.
TV4 Nyheterna has been in contact with the Left Party, which declined an interview regarding Lundberg’s criticism. However, they emphasize that it is particularly serious that Lundberg has expressed support for the PFLP after the attack on 7 October.
