Oskarshamn with its seventh straight victory – beat Björklöven

Seven straight wins.
That’s Oskarshamn’s result after 5–2 at home against Björklöven.
– It’s fun to win, but we work on it successively, says Rasmus Bengtsson in TV4’s broadcast.

Hockey Allsvenskan’s two hottest teams met in Oskarshamn this evening, where the home team got off to a flying start in the match when Axel Wemmenborn was offered a free position in a numerical disadvantage and was ice cold in front of goal.

1-0 Oskarshamn who continued to gas and had 3-0 on the board a bit into the second, when Björklöven started to wake up after the long journey down to Småland.

The team picked up two goals and had bids for more, but lost their grip when the home team’s Rasmus Bengtsson made it 4-2 with ten minutes remaining.

The match then officially died when the Småland put 5-2 in the open box through Georg Weigelt.

“Glad we’re keeping it together”

Three points for Oskarshamn – the team’s seventh straight victory.

– I am of course happy and proud that we can keep it together. I’m terribly disappointed with the second period, but we have to take the positives today, says team captain Rasmus Bengtsson.

– It’s fun to win. That is how it is, but we are working on it successively. Tomorrow is a new day and we meet Södertälje on Friday.

Sawing: “Worst I’ve seen”

Björklöven’s Björn Hellkvist was not happy after the team’s second straight loss. Before that, the team had nine straight victories.

– We are miserable in the first period. Very bad. It’s the worst thing I’ve seen since I came to Löven, he says and continues:

– But you come down to earth quite quickly anyway. It is positive. You don’t float away that far.

Björklöven goes to Stockholm to face Djurgården on Friday.
