In an interesting incident in Brazil, doctors were shocked to find a two-pound dumbbell in the rectum of a male patient who came to the emergency room with cramps and severe constipation.
The situation, which was not clear during the examination, emerged when the patient’s x-ray was taken. In the incident in Manaus, Brazil, paramedics tried to pull the object out using tweezers but were unsuccessful. Then they resorted to a more brutal method and tried to remove it manually.
SUCCESSFULLY REMOVED
In the case, which is featured in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports, the surgical team wrote in its report: “The object was successfully removed without expecting any permanent complications.”
