Daywalker fans continue to be in the dark when it comes to when the next Blade film will finally hit theaters. After two films with Wesley Snipes as a Marvel vampire, the double Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) should be on November 7, 2025 finally take on the successor promised since 2019.
But changes to plans in the MCU calendar are putting this dream of monster bloodbath to rest for the time being. And just one week before Halloween!
But no Blade film in 2025: Other projects planned in the MCU calendar
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blade’s next November date will be the sci-fi horror sequel Predator: Badlands. Dan Trachtenberg, who also contributed to the successful predecessor Prey, has been filming it with leading actress Elle Fanning in New Zealand since August this year.
Additionally, Marvel has added the following film release dates to its MCU calendar for the more distant future:
The problem: We still have no idea which films are slated for release dates four years away.

However, the fact that Marvel has pulled the new Blade film from the calendar doesn’t mean that it has already sunk into development hell. Eric Pearson (Black Widow, Thor: Day of Decision) is currently working on the script and actress Mia Goth is already officially on board. Beyond 2025, however, we are already moving towards Phase 6 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But there are also some who believe that someone of Mahershala Ali’s caliber shouldn’t spend his promising career waiting for Marvel lead roles.
