Ängelholm’s women’s team did not lose a single match this season and did not concede a goal all year.
Still, they failed to clinch the series victory in Division 4.
– I have never been part of it and I have still coached football for 20 years. Not standing as league winners when the season is over and not having conceded a goal, says coach Ulf Johansson to Sportbibeln.
Imagine going undefeated through an entire season, keeping a clean sheet in all games and having a goal difference of +78. But still, you don’t win the series. That is the reality for Ängelholms FF’s women’s team in division 4 Skåne northwest. They stood for a successful season, but unfortunately could not crown it with a first place in the table.

The remarkable table has gone viral on social media and people all over the world are wondering how Ängelholm failed to win Division 4, despite keeping a clean sheet in 18 straight games.
– After the final whistle for the series, the girls felt a bit snotty. They were a little sad. They thought they deserved to win the series and they did because they were a better team than the league leaders who we beat at home 1-0. Then, unfortunately, we only managed to get a 0-0 draw. They parked the bus in front of the finish line and we didn’t get in. But now I think they have digested it a little, says the team’s coach Ulf “Uffe” Johansson when Sportbibeln calls him up.
The reason they did not win the series, despite taking 15 out of 18 possible victories and cruising in three games, was that series winner Ljungbyhed won 16 games, cruised one and lost one. They collected one more point. In addition, they scored 43 goals more than Ängelholm and then had a better goal difference. The series finale between the teams was absolutely decisive.
– When we only got 0-0 against the league leaders Ljungbyhed, we started to realize: “Okay, there probably won’t be a league win”. We believed it all the way until the last time we met them. Then they got a little sad and I watched them start to lose a little weight. But then we said that we are going for zero instead and will keep it and not lose any matches. Then I didn’t believe in it even as a leader, but it worked, says Ulf Johansson.
This is an absolutely incredible feat that maddeningly fell short. The girls did a really good job all season and still deserve to be celebrated.
