Police blotter: Charges laid in stolen vehicle incident

A 37-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

Brant OPP were dispatched to investigate a theft of a vehicle from a Willow Lake Road address at about 3:58 pm Sept. 27.

Police allege the man was in possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect has also been charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

Driver face impaired charges

A 23-year-old Ohsweken man faces several charges after failing to stop for police.

Six Nations Police officers on patrol witnessed a vehicle on Fifth Road traveling at a high rate of speed just before 4 am on Friday, September 6.

Pursuit of the vehicle was terminated after the driver failed to stop for police.

Officers spotted the vehicle pulling into a parking spot on Bicentennial Trail a short time later and were able to block the vehicle from moving.

The driver exhibited signs of impairment when he emerged from the vehicle.

The accused faces charges of impaired operation, dangerous driving, flight from police, use plate not authorized for vehicle, Class G1 license holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver, and Class G! License holder – drive at illegal hour.

Two days later, Six Nations Police charged a 28-year-old woman after a single-vehicle collision.

Police were notified of the collision that involved personal injuries at about 4:30 pm on Sunday, September 8 at the intersection of Onondaga and Fifth Line Road.

The vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch and struck a tree. The driver, police said, showed signs of impairment when speaking with officers.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to an area hospital after suffering major injuries.

The accused has been charged with impaired operation, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and driving motor vehicle – no license.
