The 2025 finance bill arrives this evening at the National Assembly to be debated, in an already tense climate. The Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, calls on deputies to show cohesion to preserve the budgetary balance. However, the first part of the budget, devoted to state revenue, was already rejected on Saturday in the finance committee. If the left supported the text, all the other groups – from the RN to the presidential majority including the centrists of LO – opposed it, denouncing an excessive increase in the tax burden compared to the initial project.
