Brantford resident killed in crash on Highway 403

A 20-year-old Brantford resident was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 403 in Brant County early Sunday morning.

The vehicle was traveling on Highway 403 eastbound near mile marker 22 when it left the road and entered a wooded area, police said in a media release.

Brant OPP, fire and paramedic services responded to the scene at about 2:36 am. The driver was transported to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Highway 403 eastbound is expected to remain closed between Middle Townline Road and Rest Acres Road/Hwy 24 for the next several hours, police said.

Brant OPP request that drivers avoid the area.

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision on Cockshutt Road in Norfolk County on Saturday morning.

OPP from Norfolk and Brant County detachments, firefighters, and paramedics responded just prior to 10 am on Saturday to a collision involving a pickup truck and SUV at Cockshutt Road and Concession 3 Townsend.

Norfolk OPP say the driver and a passenger of the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries, was assessed by paramedics, and released on scene.

Cockshutt Road in the area of ​​the collision was closed for several hours as police investigated.

The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team was called in to assist with both investigations.
