A new, major update has been released for the survival game Once Human, which adds some fresh content to the Steam hit. A big highlight is the map and the new scenario, which takes you to a winter area to suit the cold season.
What kind of update is this? On October 17th, 2024, a new, major update entitled The Way of Winter was released for the survival game Once Human. In keeping with the cold season that is slowly approaching, the game transports you to a frosty scenario.
The official Once Human website describes the update as the largest and most content-rich scenario update since Once Human’s launch. But it’s not just the map that changes. The update brings with it some new features, including fresh survival mechanics.

The Way of Winter brings a new survival mechanic to the game
What’s included in the new update? With the update some new content comes into the game. One of the most important is a fresh winter scenario and a new survival mechanic: temperature. The icy cold affects your stats. Accordingly, you now have to pay attention to your own temperature.
It’s not just about the cold. In the new area you can also expect places with extreme heat. Accordingly, you have to keep an eye on the time, the weather and the location. In order to cope with the new danger, there will be items that will help you.
At the center of the new mechanics is the Thermal Tower. This new building helps you, but is also difficult to capture and hold.
