When a group of mountaineers accidentally broke into an ancient cave in Bhutan in 1995, they had no idea what awaited them there. The events of that day stretch their bony fingers into 2018. Ex-cop James Lasombra (James Badge Dale) is after one shocking stroke of fate quit his job. But when his neighbor’s daughter disappears, he is persuaded to investigate the case.
He comes across this local legend of the Empty Manwho, once called, comes to fetch his victims. The local police don’t want to know anything about such superstitions. But James is undeterred and continues his research. He soon comes across not only countless puzzles, but also a strange cult that raises further questions.
