Last week, Meta fired more than 30 people.

In the chat service Blind, users said that those who had been fired had been guilty of abusing food stamps, the BBC reported.

According to the interlocutors, the Meta employees who bought toothpaste with food coupons had received a warning before their dismissal.

Many stopped after being warned about abusing the benefit. Nevertheless, they were fired three months later, the interlocutors said.

Recently, Meta has told about staff reductions in Whatsapp, Instagram and Reality Labs, which it owns.

Meta has not commented on the redundancies related to food coupons.
