Two films with the same topic are streaming on Netflix

Netflix has discovered the age gap discourse. At least that’s how it seems when we look at the streamer’s new releases in the past few months. Three popular projects, a series and two films, can be found here, one Love story with a big age difference tell.

The most recent series is the Italian romantic drama Cheating Love, which premiered in the second week of October and has since topped the top 10 most popular non-English language series on Netflix. It tells the story of 60-year-old Gabriella, who falls in love with the much younger Elia.

After six episodes, however, it’s already over: Fraudulent Love is a mini-series, which means that despite its success, we’ll be happy no hopes for season 2 should do. If you are still looking for more stories of this kind, we have picked out two Netflix tips for you below.

#1 Cheating Love Substitute on Netflix: A Family Affair

A Family Affair – Trailer (German) HD

A Family Affair, which was released on Netflix in June this year, is less dramatic but features big Hollywood stars. The romantic comedy revolves around 24-year-old Zara Ford (Joey King), who works as an assistant for rising actor Chris Cole (Zac Efron), who falls in love with her mother Brooke (Nicole Kidman).

Just like in Fraudulent Love, the relationship shakes up the lives of the people involved and puts social conventions to the test. However, the tone is not too serious. A Family Affair delves more into the comedic aspects of the premise and indulges in plenty of slapstick humor.

Cheating Love Substitute #2 on Netflix: Lonely Planet

Lonely Planet: Love in Morocco – Trailer (German) HD

Age-gap loves story and holiday film in one? You’ve come to the right place at Lonely Planet: Love in Morocco. Shortly after Cheating Love, Netflix released the romantic film starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth. Dern plays a successful writer and Hemsworth plays a young financial manager.

Katherine Lowe has just separated from her husband. In Marrakech she tries to clear her head and finally overcome that annoying writer’s block that makes her next novel impossible. As soon as she meets the young Owen Brophy, who is actually accompanying another young author, she feels inspired again.

Even more new love stories with age differences

When You Saw Me – Trailer (German) HD

In recent months, it’s not just Netflix that has plunged into love stories in which characters with a large age difference meet. There was also a prominent original with a comparable concept on Amazon * this year: the RomCom When you saw me, with Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.

If we go back a step further, we find the theatrical release of Last Summer with Léa Drucker and Samuel Kircher at the beginning of the year. The tragicomedy Between the Temples, in which Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane meet in stormy emotions, was also shown at the Berlinale.

Last summer it was also released in physical form for home cinema. There is still no regular start date for Between the Temples in this country. When You Saw Me is streaming on Amazon Prime Video with a subscription. A Family Affair, Lonely Planet and Fraudulent Love are in the streaming flat on Netflix.
