Netflix is releasing a new film inspired by a real, completely crazy news story, which promises to arouse the curiosity of the streaming platform’s subscribers.
Every week, Netflix puts new programs online so as not to bore its subscribers. It is therefore possible to discover this thriller inspired by a mind-blowing true story in the coming days. After Monsterstrue crime fans will be won over by this project again, it may be the ideal program for you!
This new Netflix film marks the first steps of actress Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, Twilight) to realization. She also plays the leading role: that of a woman who narrowly escaped from a serial killer she met on a TV show. In the 1970s, a wave of murders made headlines and worried the population. In this context, a woman who hopes to become an actress participates in the show The Dating Gameequivalent of Turn merry-go-round. But she is far from suspecting that she finds herself face to face with the serial killer in question…
The movie A woman at stake thus returns to the terrible true story that Cheryl Bradshaw may have experienced. The latter actually ended up on the show The Dating Game in which Rodney Alcala also participated, without her knowing that the latter was a rapist and serial killer. Cheryl Bradshaw was almost trapped by this man, before judging his behavior as worrying. Sentenced to death in California in 2010 for the murders of five people in the late 1970s, we do not know exactly how many victims Rodney Alcala would have caused: the figure varies between 8 and 130 according to different estimates. He died on July 24, 2021, at age 77.
There is no doubt that such a story promises to excite Netflix subscribers, who regularly favor series and films inspired by true criminals, as well as true crime documentaries. Opposite Anna Kendrick in the role of Cheryl Bradshaw is actor Daniel Zovatto (It Follows, The Vatican Exorcist…) who embodies the criminal. Kathryn Gallagher (You, Gossip Girl), Tony Hale (Veep, Arrested Development) or Nicolette Robinson (Love in times of Corona, The Affair) are also in the cast.
If you want to discover A woman at stakeyou’ll have to go to Netflix. This thriller is put online on the subscription platform this Friday, October 18. Perfect for getting into the Halloween spirit!
