In his statement on his social media account, Minister of Internal Affairs Yerlikaya stated that they would definitely not tolerate scenes that were provocative, attempted to spread terrorist propaganda and glorified violence in Diyarbakır, and said, “We are determined to eliminate all kinds of threats to our country and democracy, including separatist terrorism.”
Minister Yerlikaya gave the following information:
“Despite the ban decision taken by Diyarbakır Governorship ‘in order not to disrupt public order and security’, a total of 47 account managers who tried to hold an illegal rally on Sunday, October 13, 2024 and made social media posts supporting the terrorist organization were detained by the General Directorate of Security, Department of Combating Cyber Crimes.” They were detected during virtual patrol activities and action was taken against them. On the same day, a total of 13 account managers, 7 of whom were DEM Party MPs, were identified as sharing the photo of the leader of the Separatist Terrorist Organization on their social media accounts. 1 suspect was taken into custody, 1 suspect was arrested, 4 suspects were taken into custody, and the other suspects who were making illegal propaganda are still being identified.
