Adult intuition

Adult intuition

Adults forget the ease with which they chained together their remarks to draw the only possible conclusion when they were not yet old enough to be overcome by paralyzing doubts and when they naively believed that everything said was taken into consideration. : we don’t talk for the sake of saying nothing, unless it’s a game and then it’s made clear: gifted children, even more than others, love to say stupid things while playing with words. They laugh about it for a long time.

Very quickly, they realize that no one pays much attention to their ideas, which are nothing more than “childishness” to the point of ending up being convinced themselves that their words do not have much value. This idea is anchored very deeply in their minds, since their opinion was considered negligible. Furthermore, this observation became apparent very early on: all the others knew better than them how to behave in numerous life situations, it further reinforced this idea of the total absence of value of a remark which they seemed interesting at the time.

Intuition is guided, at the same time, by a dazzling reflection which has discerned the essential points to guide it and also by a feeling, very subtle to explain. It would be a feeling of harmony and balance between all aspects of a situation, even those that are blurred or hidden, the whole being under merciless lighting, leaving nothing in shadow. All the elements fit together perfectly, without a false note. This magnificent organization causes a little thrill which would be the signature of this feeling as discreet as it is essential.

It is then really very regrettable that the spontaneous use of this mechanism working without a hitch or false note, breaking the harmony, was not encouraged at an age when it was completely natural. On the contrary, it was rather considered an accident, fortunate indeed, but nourished by welcome and necessarily random chances which it was more prudent not to take into account. It is wiser to teach this child, however perceptive he may be, to be wary of what we call a first impression, it can be distorted by elements, ultimately unimportant, but which we believe, all of a sudden. First, that they distorted this first image.
Added to this is the lack of life experience, the impossibility of referring to past events: these are serious data: confronted with them, the feeling has little weight.

It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to justify this feeling with rational arguments that would address the reflective qualities of those we are talking to. This is not an area where we can speak of “inner conviction”, the reasons supporting the kind of judgment that a gifted person can make are difficult to evoke, they even seem derisory, superficial, based on subjective impressions impossible to understand. demonstrate: their author would even ridicule himself if he tried, he would certainly be made fun of and his image would be further diminished. It is therefore useless and sometimes dangerous to share this deep conviction that we cannot explain.

Unfortunately, this distrust, sometimes tinged with mockery, which those around them do not deprive themselves of, ends up impressing those who cannot explain where this opinion, sometimes irrefutable, which imposes itself on their mind, comes from. His doubts, so frequent and easily destabilizing, shake his certainties, he loses all confidence in ideas that he is the only one to have, he comes to distrust them, he no longer places any trust in himself. However, this mechanism of its own continues to function imperturbably: it knows that certain situations would be harmful or unhealthy, certain people are unreliable despite appearances and even sometimes their reputation, undertaking a given action would be extremely risky. , dangerous perhaps…

A small voice continues to stubbornly whisper its warnings, or, on the contrary, its encouragement to undertake an action despite the risks it could present, but those who no longer want to pay attention to it become deaf to this whisper, he doesn’t want to know anything, he prefers to follow the opinion of the majority or succumb to arguments that he feels are fallacious, but which offer all the guarantees of security, it seems.

Later, when the time of regret arrives, there is no longer time to reproach oneself for one’s distrust of one’s own ideas, to try to justify it with arguments even more derisory than those which had been brought up to make more credible the opinion which had quite naturally imposed itself on the mind. He who followed his instinct, without really knowing for what reasons, never ceases to congratulate himself, he himself is still surprised by it, he “does not know why” he acted in this way which nevertheless seemed thoughtless, absurd and even sometimes crazy, but he realizes that he was right, he did not allow himself to be diverted by the opinions, generally peremptory, of those around him, overwhelmed by this stubborn determination unusual on the part of someone constantly doubting him. Until then, it was so easy to persuade him of the inanity of his ideas, he himself was quickly convinced of it and sometimes even a little ashamed of having dared to express such madness in a moment of unexpected audacity.

You have to adopt a voluntary approach to dare to trust your intuition without fearing sarcasm, sometimes events take their time to prove right the daring original who had seen far and right. We must repeat that it is impossible for feeling to deceive, it draws its very essence from roots so deep that they cannot be completely understood and even less analyzed. It exists, we must trust it without attempting a rationalization which would only restrict its scope and lessen its rigor. The logic that inspired it is based on so many elements that we cannot identify them all even though they are all equally important. It is a stunning synthesis which led to the only possible conclusion: ultimately, we must admit it without discussing it.

Wanting to grasp this dazzling sequence would be like trying to coldly analyze all the elements that inspired the painter of a masterpiece that we can admire without restraint, it is first of all his own genius that guided his hand , his way of seeing reality and what lies beyond and which he knows how to perceive.

Conclusions: we should not hesitate to trust these dazzling intuitions nor allow ourselves to be impressed by the arguments of those who rely too much on general thinking. There would never have been these dazzling discoveries then. In the flow of existence, this intuition avoids many wanderings and many disappointments.
