Israel will continue to listen to its closest ally the United States in the development of the war, but in the end it will make its own decisions, based on its own national interests, said Benjamin Netanyahu’s staff in a statement.
The statement comes after sources told the Washington Post that it is willing to limit attacks on military targets – and not strike Iran’s oil and nuclear energy targets.
The message is said to have been delivered by Netanyahu during a conversation with US President Joe Biden last week.
The US relieved
Israel has promised a “bloody response” to Iran’s October robot attacks. According to the newspaper, the new announcement is met with relief from the American side.
The White House has previously expressed concern about these attacks, which risk causing runaway global energy prices while increasing the risk of further escalation, as well as direct US military involvement.
The White House has not yet officially commented on the data.
