HPK won the battle for the top once again

In the ice hockey Aurora League, HPK took their second victory over Ilves of the weekend, when they beat the team from Tampere in their home arena, now with a score of 5–2.

The 17-year-old Czech striker scored the winning goal in overtime on Saturday Barbora Jurickova continued his strong grips. He was the most efficient player of the match, scoring 1+2=3.

Despite the loss, Ilves is still at the top of the league. In second place is Kiekko-Espoo, who claimed a narrow 2-1 away win over Kuortane. The match stretched into a contest for the winning goal, where Emma Nuutinen decided Espoo’s victory. HPK is in third place.

HIFK also took their second win of the weekend, when they claimed a 6–1 victory over KalPa. Olivia Kylliainen contributed four hits from Helsinki, and Emmi Juusela recorded powers 2+1. In Oulu, Kärpät lost to Turku Palloseura 0–2.
