Brynäs climbs the table after a win against Modo

Modo park last in the table after six straight losses. The fact that the team scored the season’s first away goal was not enough against Brynäs.

Modo is in a serious slump. Before Monday’s match against Brynäs, the team had five straight losses.

Brynäs took an early lead in the first period through Oskar Lindblom, who scored his second goal of the season after having a weak scoring production.

Broke the curse – not enough

After Brynäs extended their lead in the second period, a long-awaited Modo goal came. The reduction to 2-1 meant that Modo scored the first away goal of the season. It required 209 minutes and 41 seconds of effective playing time.

– The curse is broken, said TV4’s commentator Lena Sundqvist at the time.

But it wasn’t enough. Despite Modo equalizing at 2-2, Brynäs pulled away after strong play and higher efficiency than in a long time. Brynäs won the match 5-2.

“Can’t lay down and die”

It is Modo’s sixth straight loss.

– We have to start winning games, it’s that simple. We can’t just lie down and die, we have to eat. There are many matches left, says Modo’s team captain David Rundblad after the match.

Modo remains in last place in the table, while Brynäs climbs all the way up to seventh place.
