A 26-year-old Briton has died after falling from a bridge in central Spain.

The man is said to have climbed the bridge in Talavera de la Reina to “create content” for social media, according to local authorities.

According to the authorities, he must have arrived at the scene together with another British encome to climb the Castilla-La Mancha bridge, which runs over the Tagus river.

The cable-stayed bridge in question is Spain’s tallest and Europe’s second tallest at 192 meters. With 152 cables and a view of the countryside southwest of Madrid, it has long attracted daredevil tourists, who have climbed the bridge for the purpose of taking photos and filming, even though it is prohibited.
