HPS beat Aland United and remains in the fight for

The fight for silverware in the National Football League will be deliciously resolved only in the final round of the season.

Helsinki Palloseura claimed an important away win against Åland United in the National Football League. HPS defeated Åland United 3–1 (2–1) and thus remained in the fight for silverware. Second place would bring a place in the new Euro competition.

HJK has already secured the Finnish championship, but the silver battle between Kuopio Palloseura and Helsinki Palloseura will culminate in the final round played on October 18. KuPS is two points ahead of HPS before the teams meet each other. HJK will face Åland United in the final round.

Åland Henni Rinkinen and Oona Jääskeläinen swept HPS to a two-goal run away. Olivia Ulenius was responsible for the downsizing of Åland United until Matilda Juniper struck in the final moments and sealed HPS’s 3–1 win.

In the fight for relegation, only PK-35 Vantaa has secured its place in the series. On Sunday, Tampere Ilves won 2–0 away from Pallokerho Keski-Uusimaa. Of the six teams in the challenger series, no fewer than three fall to the First Division.

PK-35 Helsinki, Ilves, Jyväskylä Pallokerho and FC Honka are all in the danger zone until the final round. Ball club Keski-Uusimaa will surely fall to the 1st.
