The bank account will have to be expanded in October. Six million French people will be forced to manage their expenses a little differently between now and the next salary payment. In fact, all civil servants will have to wait 33 days after the last pay before seeing the transfer arrive.
This is not the first time this year that this has happened, but teachers, nurses, administrative employees or other magistrates were not necessarily informed of it or ignored the information. While the payment of the salary for the month of September was made on Thursday 26, we will now have to wait more than a month, due to the schedule established by the various paying organizations.
No rules really govern the payment of remuneration. However, a deadline is always set: that of the penultimate working day of the month. Have we lost you? It’s normal. Concretely, it is the penultimate day of the month among the working days, working days being Monday to Friday.
In September this fell on Thursday the 26th (last working day Monday the 30th). In October, this will be Tuesday 29 (last working day Thursday 31). It is therefore on Tuesday October 29 that the administrations will pay the salaries of all civil servants. Depending on processing times by the banks, pay may not arrive until October 31.
This big payment delay occurs for the third and last time in 2024… before a “bad surprise” to start 2025. In fact, in December, salaries will be paid much earlier, on the 20th of the month. On the other hand, at the end of January, the transfer will not be made until… the 29th by the administrations! That’s 40 days to wait, the longest period of time of the year.
