Malmö did not need to win against Örebro SK. In the halftime break, the announcement came that MFF was ready for the women’s league when Umeå and Bollstanäs finished 0–0.

The Skåne team still took the lead just over ten minutes into the second half via Beatrice Persson.

And in the final minutes of the match, the nail in the coffin came when Alexia Mitkovska made it 2-0, which was also the final score.

– It means so damn much, I’ve only been here this year but the girls have been fighting since division four. They have gone through every league system and won. For Malmö as a club, it means a lot to have two Allsvenskan teams at the top, says Beatrice Persson to SVT Sport.

Mia Persson left FC Rosengård last summer when she signed for MFF. Now she is a women’s Swedish player again.

– It means everything to me, to us and to the club. We are finally taking the step up in the women’s league, it’s fantastic.

What does it take to continue to reap success in the women’s league?

– Work even harder and analyze what we can do better. Hard work to meet us with the others.

Next year you will face Rosengård, how will it be?

– We’ll have to take that next year, but it will surely be great fun.
