  • A fire has broken out in the Malmberget mine in Gällivare municipality.

    The alarm came in at 2 p.m.

    According to preliminary information, the fire must have started in a pipe stack at a depth of 750 metres.

    – There are people left in the mine. An ambulance is on site to be prepared if someone needs medical care. But there is no information about any injuries at the moment, says Emilia Salmela, press communicator at LKAB.

    She states that the staff down in the mine have gathered in rescue chambers to take shelter from fire and smoke.

    – There has been a fire underground. The local rescue service from LKAB was also alerted there, as well as two ambulances and an ambulance helicopter, says Alexandra Norén, alarm and control operator at the rescue service.

    A traffic accident has occurred at 15:00 on the E6 at the height of Bäckebol in Gothenburg.

    A man has been injured in a parachute accident in Västerås.

    The parachute club Aros confirms that it is one of their jumpers who is affected.

  • Norway: The police introduce temporary border controls

    In a press release, the Norwegian police write that the country is introducing a temporary internal border control. The background is the security police’s, PTS, decision to increase the terror threat level.

    The border crossings are not expected to take longer than before.

    Growers from all over Denmark have taken part in a competition as part of the Halloween celebrations at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.

    Today, a Nordic record was set with a pumpkin that weighed 1,115.8 kilograms.

    The man behind the big pumpkin is debutant Peter Holst Olsen from Næstved.

    It can be viewed until November 3.

  • Four nurses hit – car left by man with gunshot wound

    Four nurses have been hit by a car outside a hospital in Philadelphia, USA.

    It happened in connection with the driver of the car dropping off a man with a gunshot wound, writes FOX 29 News reporter Steve Keeley.

    The driver is said to have tried to drive quickly from the scene and then ran over the nurses who were badly injured.

    The condition is “extremely critical” for one of the nurses.

  • Teenager stabbed outside store

    An 18-year-old boy has been stabbed outside a shop in Alingsås.

    The boy has been stabbed in the back. He was awake and talking when the police arrived at the scene.

    The incident occurred on Friday evening and a 15-year-old boy has been arrested and detained on suspicion of the crime.

  • Boy’s match canceled in Borås – man in his 20s dead

    A football match was canceled in Borås during the morning after an uncontactable person was found next to the pitch.

    The police and ambulance were called at 09:39.

    Shortly after half past ten, the police announced that the person, a man in his 20s, had died.

    The police have cordoned off the area and are currently interviewing people who were at the scene.

  • Four people are wanted in custody after the murder of a woman

    Four people have been remanded in custody for murder after a woman was found dead in Eskilstuna on September 17, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced on Saturday morning.

    All of the four were arrested on Thursday, October 9.

    It is a man in his 60s, a man in his 25s and a man and a woman in their 35s who are now suspected of the murder.

  • Overturned car on E4 – three to hospital

    At 08.49 the police received an alarm about a traffic accident on the E4 near Helsingborg.

    – The car has overturned and ended up in the ditch. The extent of the damage is unclear as the police just arrived at the scene, says Katarina Rusin, the police’s spokesperson.

    The road was closed for approximately 30 minutes in the northbound direction before the car could be towed away.

    Three people have been taken to hospital by ambulance.

    The road is now clear of traffic.

    The revelation that a leader of a criminal motorcycle gang was a guest at SD leader Jimmie Åkesson’s wedding has led to strong reactions, and Åkesson himself has called it a failure.

    But the information has not affected the cooperation between SD and the government parties, according to Gustav Gellerbrant, SD’s head of the coordination office, where all important issues in the Tidö Agreement are negotiated.

    – It happens that we in the Coordination have reason to discuss things that concern our parties. This time I have not received any questions at all from the other parties. So I regard this as a small matter in the grand scheme of things, he says in Ekot’s Saturday interview.

    He does not believe that the disclosure will make it difficult for SD’s plans to sit in a government after the next election. He also does not believe that it affects trust in SD in legal policy, for example when it comes to fighting gang crime.

  • Boeing notifies ten percent of employees

    The American aircraft manufacturer Boeing is to get rid of 17,000 employees worldwide – approximately 10 percent of the workforce. The company also warns that the ongoing strike will mean continued large losses, the Wall Street Journal reports.

    The launch of the new 777X aircraft model, which is already delayed, will be further delayed. Development of the 767 cargo plane will also be suspended.

    Negotiations with the strikers, some 33,000 people, broke down earlier this week. The strike, which has been going on since September 13, means that plant manufacturing has basically stopped.
