Every year, the Pasteur Institute takes action to bring science closer to the general public. In 2024, the Pasteurdon event will highlight current scientific challenges, while celebrating researchers and their impact on our daily lives.

With 137 years of history, the Institut Pasteur continues to reinvent itself. The 18th edition of Pasteurdon invites us to discover research in a new way, emphasizing the generosity of the public to fund innovative projects.

    An edition marked by innovation

This year again, Pasteurdon returns from October 9 to 13, 2024 with a rich and diverse program. Online events, solidarity sporting challenges and much more will be there. But why this enthusiasm around research? Because science saves lives.

Pasteurdon is more than just a call for donations. It is a way to celebrate scientific advances in areas as crucial as emerging diseasesTHE cancers or even theimpact of global warming on our health.

Launch of a new era with Yasmine Belkaid

Pasteurdon 2024 also marks a turning point with the arrival of Professor Yasmine Belkaid at the head of the Institute. With her experience in the United States, this immunologist specializing in microbiota embodies scientific excellence. In 2024, it is putting the spotlight on mother-child bonds, a key subject of Pasteurian research with the MAMM project.

The health of women and children occupies a central place in the Institute’s roadmap for the years to come. Understanding the first interactions between a mother and her child is essential to anticipate future illnesses. This research is not simply medical, it is profoundly human.

    PasteuRun: 100,000 steps for science

New in this edition: the PasteurRuna united sporting challenge where every step counts. By walking or running, each participant can support research, at the rate of 1 km = 1 euro. Whether you are a Sunday athlete or a marathon runner, this challenge is within everyone’s reach, and each step brings researchers closer to a discovery.

Over 18 days, the objective is to accumulate 100,000 steps (or approximately 4 km per day). Companies and individuals are invited to mobilize via a connected application. A real giant leap for science!

Why give? 5 reasons to act now

    • Research saves lives: donations fund cutting-edge work on serious diseases.
    • A direct impact: the generosity of the public represents nearly a third of the Institute’s budget.
    • Concrete projects: your support helps advance research on current issues such as cancer or infections linked to global warming.
    • Progress for everyone: whether for pregnant women, children or the elderly, each advance benefits the entire population.
    • A lasting commitment: your donation ensures ongoing research, which is essential in the face of new health challenges.

THE Pasteurdon 2024 is more than a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to celebrate research, shed light on public health issues, and affirm our solidarity with researchers. Together, let’s advance science for a healthier future.
