The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be revealed on Friday in Oslo.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee will announce the recipient of the Peace Prize today, Friday. According to the Reuters news agency, at least 286 people or entities are in the running.
Well-known candidates include, among others, the Secretary General of the UN António Guterresthe Pope Francisa British naturalist David Attenboroughthe president Volodymyr Zelenskyi and an exiled opposition leader in Belarus Svyatlana Tsihanouskaya.
In advance, the election observers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) or the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have also been predicted to receive the award.
It was previously speculated that the Nobel Committee would not award a peace prize this year in protest at the world’s unrest.
However, the Nobel Committee assured that the Peace Prize will be awarded.
Last year, the peace prize was won by an imprisoned Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi.
