  • Musk presents new self-driving taxi and larger vehicles

    On Thursday evening, Elon Musk showed off Tesla’s new innovations “Tesla’s Cybercab” and “Robovan” at the “We Robot” event.

    Almost an hour later, Musk rolled onto the stage in what he himself called a “self-driving” vehicle without a steering wheel or pedals.

    The self-driving taxi is one of 21 vehicles the company has on site at the Warner Bros studio in California where the event was held.

    Musk said Tesla’s self-driving “Cybercab” taxi will be on sale for under $30,000. Musk says he hopes the vehicles will be able to be in production before 2027.

    During the event, Musk also revealed plans to produce a larger self-driving vehicle, the “Robovan,” which he says will be able to drive up to 20 people at once.
