This would have been the first time that the leaders supporting theUkraine would have gathered at the Ramstein summit. This Ukrainian defense group bringing together more than 50 countries will ultimately not meet at the American military base in Germany this Friday since one of the main supporters of Ukraine, the American president Joe Biden, canceled his visit to supervise emergency operations in response to Hurricane Milton from Washington.
This meeting is therefore postponed, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will still undertake a European tour. On an official visit to Croatia On Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine had a real chance to take decisive action on the battlefield this winter and move, he said, towards lasting peace.

He also recalled that kyiv was counting on these allies to bring peace and security to Europe – statements that he will have the opportunity to reiterate during his meeting with the French president Emmanuel Macron this Thursday at the Élysée, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday in Berlin, as well as Pope Francis and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London.
This tour comes at a time when the Ukrainian army is in difficulty on the eastern front, facing a Russian army which is eating away at ground. And less than a month before an uncertain US presidential election, the outcome of which could jeopardize Washington’s crucial support for kyiv.
