A new French series set against the backdrop of the attacks of November 13, 2015, and particularly those at the Bataclan, is not to be missed this week in streaming.
Several years after the horror, the attacks of November 13 continue to inspire television and cinema fictions. After the films November, See Paris again Or One year one night in 2022, a mini-series in just 4 episodes returns to the traumatic events of the attacks. And is mainly inspired by a parallel story that has caused a lot of talk: that of the Bataclan mythomaniac, sentenced in 2018 to four and a half years in prison.
Directed by Just Philippot (The Cloud, Acid), the series A devoted friend is inspired by the investigative book by Alexandre Kauffmann. It follows the story of Christelle, a Parisian Eagles of Death Metal fan who miraculously was not at the Bataclan on November 13, 2015. However, she decides to get in touch with victims and poses as one of them. them, to the point of becoming a driving force in the creation of a dedicated association… Until her lies caught up with her.

This psychological thriller is already establishing itself as an unmissable fall program, which will captivate spectators. Première salutes a “relentless” series which “deals in depth with the psychology” of the title role, “impeccably played by a subtle Laure Calamy”. Le Parisien welcomes an “intense and subtle psychological thriller always on the edge” for its part, while Le Figaro judges that it is “a drama of the Paris attacks presented from perhaps its most embarrassing angle”. Rightly so, since before its broadcast, the program worried the real survivors of the attacks, worried that the real victims would fall into oblivion and that a woman who lied to everyone would be brought back into the spotlight.
A devoted friend is made up of only four episodes, lasting approximately one hour, the first of which is broadcast this Friday, October 11. The rest will be broadcast every Friday at the rate of one episode per week until 1er November 2024.
