130 Israeli soldiers claim they will stop fighting for Israel if the government does not work for a hostage and ceasefire deal, Haaretz reports.
“Continuing the war in Gaza not only delays the hostages’ return from captivity, but also endangers their lives: Many hostages have been killed in IDF attacks – many more than those who have been rescued in military operations,” said a letter addressed to ministers and military chief of staff.
Senders are conscripted soldiers in multiple roles within the Israeli military (IDF).
“If the government does not immediately change direction and work for an agreement to bring home the hostages, we will not be able to continue,” they write.
