You have certainly heard of El Mordeje, the famous spread “with toasted hazelnut cream” exported for several months by the Algerian company Cebon. The brown version evokes the taste of Nutella, while the white version recalls that of Kinder Bueno. At the beginning of the summer, influencers took hold of this product and gave it such publicity, with great licks and languorous exclamations of pleasure, that the situation became completely out of control. Result: in a few weeks, El Mordjene dough was out of stock.
To make matters worse, it was then banned from sale throughout the European Union. In short, impossible to find any. Since then, many French people have been desperately looking for a replacement, if possible. made in France. Two Norman chocolatiers, Alexandre Cousin and Léa Chauveau, decided to take up the challenge and present their alternative: Crema Bueno.
So, what is the recipe for this spread from Normandy? Roasted hazelnuts straight from Italy, sugar and palm oil. Note that this last ingredient is intended to be “environmentally friendly”, that is to say that it bears the RSPO label – which, although it is rather encouraging, does not however solve all the problems caused by consumption. palm oil.
Other good news: Crema Bueno is sold for only 3 euros in supermarkets, where its Algerian counterpart cost 10. Unfortunately, it is not yet available throughout the country, because it is produced by a small team . Moreover, its manufacturers had not imagined that it would be such a success!
Also, to cope with the high demand, the ten employees of the manufacturing workshop based in Seine-Maritime had to switch to 3x8t, around ten additional employees should soon be hired to produce 24 hours a day, without interruption.
