The next patch for World of Warcraft is in the starting blocks. Even though it’s only a “0.5” patch, there’s a lot of new content.
Although most players are still fighting their way through the heroic or mythical variant of the Palace of the Nerub-ar raid, new content is not far away – including a new raid. The big event patch 11.0.5 will be released in October and heralds the celebration of World of Warcraft’s 20th birthday.
When will patch 11.0.5 be released? The release date for patch 11.0.5 is October 23, 2024 in Europe. Due to the different time zones, the patch will be released in America on October 22nd.
What kind of patch is this? As a rule, patches with the version number “0.5” are to be understood as small patches that only bring a little new content. However, this will not be the case with 11.0.5. Even though the patch doesn’t advance the story of “The War Within” much, there’s a lot of new (and old) things to experience. The focus of the patch is the celebration of World of Warcraft’s 20th birthday.
There is also a new raid, recurring dungeons, lots of world bosses, one or two quest lines and of course lots of unlockable rewards to celebrate this anniversary.
The contents of patch 11.0.5
This content will be playable with World of Warcraft’s 20th Anniversary Celebration with Patch 11.0.5:
Until when will the event remain active? In contrast to previous celebrations, the event will not only be live for a few weeks, but for several months. You can enjoy the content until January 7, 2025. That should also be the date on which the next “real” patch 11.1 should appear. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
Until then, you can enjoy the current raid – even former Blizzard employees do that and praise it.
