From 2003 to 2018, Pauley Perrette was a fan favorite in the hit series NCIS Abby Sciuto to see. The actress gave up the role of forensic scientist because she is said to have had problems on set, especially with co-star Mark Harmon.
In recent years, Perrette has spoken publicly about how she probably never wants to return to her old job. Now she gave a new interview in which she explained again why she is much happier today.

Speaking exclusively to HELLO! magazine, the former NCIS star explained that her previous job was like a drug that allowed her to escape from real life:
There is no drug I have ever taken that has worked as well as acting. What you’re looking for in substance abuse is escape. But With acting you can escape into 1,000 different thingswithout almost killing yourself. Acting is a total drug!

Perrette now only works behind the camera as a producer of documentaries. This work allows her to continue to fully explore reality and stay true to her true self without ever having to pretend:
