Players despair of the level 50 dungeons of Throne and Liberty and are thinking about quitting

The cooperative dungeons for 6-player groups should actually be a fun and worthwhile alternative for the heroes of Throne and Liberty who don’t always want to experience big battles in the open world. However, there is often frustration in the endgame instances.

What causes frustration in the dungeons? While the cooperative 6-player instances from the level phase are still easily manageable, there are some tough final bosses waiting for the dungeon teams at level 50. Crunchy means: If even a few players in the group do not play the mechanics correctly, there is a risk of a wipe.

Let’s take the Temple of Carnage as an example, which, according to Steam achievements, only 1.1 percent of all Steam players of Throne and Liberty have been able to master.

  • As soon as Rex Chimaerus speaks in another language in the chat, blue lights appear over the battle area.
  • With these, a player must use the grappling hook to throw themselves onto the chandelier in the center of the room and activate the lever there.
  • The players who remained below can then catapult themselves onto the four pillars in the area in order to deactivate one bar each.
  • If you do this in time, the boss will stop an otherwise deadly area attack.
  • In order for this to work, the six group members have to come to an agreement, choose someone for the chandelier, and otherwise play the mechanics correctly so that enough people survive to be able to prevent the deadly area attack.

“LvL 50 dungeons make me quit the game”

What does a run like this look like in practice? MeinMMO had already discussed in an article that the cooperation and opposition in Throne and Liberty still has room for improvement despite the strong foundation. ValkyrieDrake’s review on Reddit underlines this.

The player reports that he had tremendous fun during the leveling phase of Throne and Liberty. He couldn’t wait to reach the endgame and improve there. Together with a friend, he wanted to make the dungeons unsafe as a tank/healer duo.

The two even take the time to explain mechanics and reasons for the final wipe. However, these attempts are always torpedoed because someone or several players leave the group after two or three wipes. Or because players die from the boss mechanics even after countless attempts and extensive explanations, thus provoking the wipe.

ValkyrieDrake’s current conclusion: “LvL 50 dungeons make me give up the game”. There are many other similar reports full of frustration, for example here on Reddit.

How does the community react to the reports? Many players confirm that you should avoid the automated group search for the level 50 dungeons. You can be lucky and (eventually) come across good people who will stick around until the final boss is reached. Most of the time it’s just frustration.

It is much better, according to the tip of numerous commentators, to look for like-minded people from the start using the manual group search (group noticeboard), i.e.:

  • looking for people who are keen to learn a new boss and its mechanics
  • for a group in which everyone (including yourself) already knows the boss mechanics inside out
  • It’s even better to find a whole guild of like-minded people, as many players say under the post, as being part of such a community in Throne and Liberty only offers advantages. What are your experiences in the cooperative dungeons of the MMORPG? By the way: More than 3 million players are said to have already tried out Throne and Liberty.
