On Tuesday, LP Kangasala suffered a narrow defeat in their opening game of the women’s volleyball Challenge Cup in Austria.
In their home game, the Austrian Klagenfurt defeated the Finnish team 3–2 (25-22, 17-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-10).
However, winning two sets away from home is a reasonably nice result for the Finns.
The second leg will be played in Kangasa next week, Thursday, October 17.
LP Kangasala’s 3–2 home win would bring the golden round to the fore, but with a 3–0 or 3–1 win, the next place would go to the Finnish team.
In the next round, the winner will face the Israeli Maccabi Haifa Carmel, who went directly to the second round.
This season, Klagenfurt already played in the final of their country’s Supercup, where they lost Sofia Lehton and Bettina Ylisissala 0–3 for Innsbruck.
