Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu claims Israel killed the leader of the Hezbollah extremist organization killed in September Hassan Nasrallah successor – and this successor too.

Netanyahu made his claims in a videotaped statement to the Lebanese. In the video, Netanyahu asks the Lebanese to “liberate themselves from Hezbollah so that the war can end.”

It is not entirely clear which specific Hezbollah leaders Netanyahu’s claims are aimed at. Earlier today, Israel’s defense minister said Nasrallah’s alleged successor Hashem Safieddine probably killed in an Israeli airstrike last week.

It is therefore unclear whether Netanyahu is now saying that Israel has also killed Safieddine’s successor at the head of Hezbollah.

Netanyahu also said that Lebanon used to be “known for its openness” but was now a “place of chaos and war” because “tyrants and terrorists” were ruining the state.

So far, Hezbollah has not acknowledged Safieddine’s death, nor has it announced the death of the “successor of the successor” mentioned by Netanyahu.
