The celebrities have already been in the container for a few days, but one diva only moved in at the start of the season yesterday: reality star Elena Miras. Why did the station make her wait so long to move in? The reason is obvious: drama for the cameras! Because Elena still has a bone to pick with one of the candidates… her ex Mike Heiter. The couple has a child together, but the relationship collapsed in a public mudslinging.

The exciting moment that the whole episode was looking forward to turns out to be relatively unspectacular. Elena is forgiving and even gives Mike’s girlfriend Leyla a hug. With Mike, all it takes is a handshake, but contrary to all expectations, no one went at each other’s throats.

Sat.1 made every effort to present the meeting between Mike and Elena as a dramatic event. But this is exactly where the problem lies. For many Big Brother fans, the drama seems too staged. Many criticize that the drama was artificially prolonged in episode 1. An Instagram user lets out her frustration: “Elena’s arrival only lasted 184,728 commercial breaks. The show is just ridiculous.”
One user expressed sympathy for Mike Heiter, who seemed unsettled by the situation: “It’s really bad to see Mike trying to come to terms with this. I think this staged drama is really bad.”
One criticism can be read again and again: Since Mike and Elena have a child together, it is irresponsible to show them on TV like this: “Both production companies and the editorial team should be in favor ashamed of such a deliberate encounter.
