MacBook Pro M4: a Russian YouTuber got his hands on Apple’s next computer

MacBook Pro M4 a Russian YouTuber got his hands on

Incredible but true: a Russian YouTuber would be in possession of Apple’s next MacBook Pro M4 even though it has not even been announced yet.

The next M4 MacBook Pro has already leaked, and not in the best way. While information leaks regarding tech products are quite common in the industry, it is quite rare for an unannounced Apple product to end up in the hands of users before its release. However, this is indeed what seems to have happened for Apple’s next MacBook Pro, several copies of which seem to have been recovered by Russian YouTubers.

On his YouTube channel, the man named “Wylsacom” presents what appears to be a new MacBook Pro equipped with an M4 chip. A model which has never yet been announced by Apple and which rumors indicate for the month of November 2024.

In his video, Wylsacom simply begins with “we are going to present a MacBook that has not yet been announced” before resuming in Russian and unveiling a MacBook Pro M4. We can read on the product box the words “M4 chip”, “16GB of RAM” and “512GB of storage”. We also observe that it is a MacBook with a screen size of 14 inches as is already the case on the latest MacBook Pro M3.

But YouTuber Wylsacom didn’t just open and present the MacBook Pro M4. Several measurements were carried out to check what’s new compared to the previous generation and it only seems to be a small performance gain thanks to the new M4 chip. The measurements taken are as follows:

MacBook Pro M4 / MacBook Pro M3 performance
Single-core performanceMulti-core performance
MacBook Pro M4386415,288
MacBook Pro M3300011,800

Several Apple experts have already looked at this video and explain that it would indeed be a new MacBook Pro M4 which would be announced by the end of October with a release date of Friday November 1 2024.

This affair may be exceptional, but it is not unprecedented and strongly recalls theiPhone 4 of which a model had been forgotten in a bar even before its official announcement. Apple has a habit of being very proactive with its future devices and it is generally very complicated to have information before their official announcements. See you at the end of the month to check if the MacBook pro M4 is indeed a reality or not!
