Driver charged after motorcycle crash

A single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning led to a raft of charges for the driver, as well as a trip to the hospital.

At roughly 3 am, Woodstock police officers were patrolling the Mill Street area when they saw a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed.

A short while later, the officers found the same motorcycle involved in a single-vehicle collision at Firehall Road and Highway 59 in Norwich Township, prompting them to temporarily close the roadway for an investigation.

Both the driver and the passenger suffered injuries that were deemed not life threatening and taken to hospital. The driver, a 41-year-old Woodstock man, was subsequently charged with careless driving, operating a motor vehicle on a highway without insurance, possession of property obtained by crime, using a license plate not authorized for his vehicle and driving while suspended.
